Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 June 2026
Quantum Wellness Pty Ltd (ABN 21 671 878 336), trading as Light and Wellness Co. (we, us or our), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in connection with our website, online store, products, communications and services.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply, as well as other applicable privacy, marketing and consumer laws. This policy does not create rights or obligations beyond those imposed by applicable law.
Personal information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity and contact information: name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery address.
- Account and transaction information: account details, orders, returns, refunds, gift-card activity, subscriptions or pre-orders if offered, payment status, invoices and delivery information. Full payment-card details are handled by authorised payment providers and are not stored by us in full.
- Communications: enquiries, customer-support messages, survey responses and other correspondence.
- Preferences and submitted content: marketing choices, reviews, photographs, loyalty activity, wishlists, stock-notification requests and other content you choose to provide.
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, approximate location, cookie and similar identifiers, referring pages, pages viewed, searches, links or messages opened or clicked, cart activity and purchase events.
- Fraud, security and compliance information: information used to verify transactions, prevent misuse, protect customers and meet legal obligations.
- Derived information: insights, preferences or customer segments inferred from interactions with us, Shopify or service providers.
Please do not send health information or other sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for your enquiry. If you voluntarily provide sensitive information, we will handle it for the purpose for which it was provided and otherwise as permitted by law. We do not use customer health information to diagnose, prescribe or provide personalised medical treatment.
How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you browse, create an account, order, contact us, join a mailing list, request a notification, submit a review or use another store feature. We may also receive information from Shopify, payment and delivery providers, third-party apps, fraud-prevention services, marketing platforms, social platforms where you interact with us, and other persons authorised by you. Some information is collected automatically through cookies, pixels and similar technologies.
Why we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- operate, administer, secure and improve our store;
- process payments, orders, deliveries, returns, refunds, gift cards, pre-orders and subscriptions if offered;
- provide customer support and respond to enquiries;
- send transactional messages, stock notifications and other requested communications;
- send marketing where we have consent or are otherwise permitted, and manage opt-outs;
- administer reviews, loyalty features, wishlists and personalised experiences;
- measure store performance, communications and advertising;
- detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents and unlawful activity;
- keep records, enforce our terms, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations; and
- support a sale, restructuring or transfer of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate protections.
Where consent is required, you may withdraw it, although withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred beforehand or processing supported by another lawful basis. We do not rely on a blanket statement that merely using the website constitutes consent to every form of processing.
Shopify and enhanced services
Our store is hosted by Shopify. When you visit, browse or make a purchase, Shopify processes personal information to provide and improve the services we use, including services informed by interactions with this store, other merchants and Shopify.
Where Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled, Shopify may combine information about your interactions with our store with information about interactions with other merchants and Shopify to provide enhanced services that help protect, grow and improve businesses and customer experiences. Information may be shared with Shopify and other service providers located outside Australia or outside your country.
For more information about Shopify's practices and available rights, read Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy.
Third-party apps and service providers
We use apps, integrations and providers for functions including hosting, payments, search, fraud prevention, order administration, subscriptions and pre-orders if offered, invoicing and accounting, shipping, customer support, email and SMS, stock notifications, reviews, loyalty and rewards, wishlists, analytics, attribution, advertising, social media and workflow automation.
Not every provider receives every category of information. Access depends on the service, permissions granted through Shopify and features used. Providers may receive information from us or Shopify or collect it when you interact with their feature, form, cookie or pixel.
Providers may process information in Australia and overseas, including countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Some providers may handle information under their own privacy policies where they act independently. We take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances when selecting and using providers and managing access. Our providers change over time, so we describe categories rather than maintaining a fixed list. Contact us if you would like information about providers used for a particular feature or transaction.
Cookies, pixels and similar technologies
We and our providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage and similar technologies to keep the store functioning, remember preferences, protect transactions, understand usage, measure communications and campaigns, personalise content and support advertising. These technologies may collect device and browser information, IP address, identifiers, pages viewed, referral information, shopping activity and purchase events.
You can control cookies through browser or device settings and any privacy controls we make available. Blocking some technologies may affect functionality. Where required, we seek consent before using non-essential technologies and respect choices communicated through privacy tools properly integrated with Shopify's Customer Privacy API.
Direct marketing
We may send marketing by email, SMS or other channels where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law. Marketing messages will identify the sender and provide a functional way to unsubscribe. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe facility or by contacting us. We will action opt-out requests within the period required by law. Opting out of marketing does not prevent necessary transactional or service communications.
Automated tools
Shopify and other providers may use automated tools to identify suspected fraud, secure transactions, personalise experiences or measure likely interests. A flag may result in an order being reviewed, delayed or declined. Where appropriate, you may contact us to request review of an outcome affecting your order.
Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including to complete transactions, meet tax and record-keeping obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary according to the information, provider settings and legal requirements. Secure backups may retain information for a limited additional period.
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures appropriate to the nature of the information. No online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs, we will assess and respond to it, including making notifications where required by law.
Access, correction and deletion
You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. You may also request deletion or object to certain uses where applicable. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse or limit a request where permitted by law, in which case we will explain the reason where required. Some information must be retained for legal, transaction, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.
Where required, we will take reasonable steps to pass a valid request to relevant Shopify apps or providers. You may also use the Shopify privacy portal for requests relating to Shopify.
Children
Our store is not directed to children and we do not knowingly invite children to provide personal information independently. A parent or guardian should place an order or contact us where a child is involved.
Complaints
Send privacy questions, requests or complaints to info@lightandwellnessco.com.au. Please provide enough detail for us to investigate. We will acknowledge and respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, technology, providers or business practices. The updated version applies from the date posted. Where required, we will provide additional notice or seek consent for a material new use of personal information.
